I want to be a Village Coordinator

What's a Village?

It's called a VillageTown because it's a town made up of villages. If the town has 10,000 people and each village has about 500 then we will have 20 villages in a VillageTown. If each household has an average 2.5 people, then this means about 200 homes per village. Each village is intended to be different, each with its own plaza, its own design, look and feel.

What's a Village Coordinator?

A Village Coordinator is the volunteer (at first) who engages those 200 home buyers to make the village happen. The job description is simple. Must have:

  • clarity (know what you want)
  • passion (able to deliver it from your heart)
  • leadership (able to capture the imagination of others to inspire and make it happen)
  • discipline (able to get up every day, give it your all and deliver effectively)
How do I become one?

Contact us. Let's talk.

What do I do if selected?

First you articulate the village. You name its theme. If, for example, you want a village based on common ancestry, for example an Italian village, you name it, you describe the look and feel of its plaza, buildings, streets and possibly the character of its artist guild hall. The theme can be almost anything...If you have a huge group of friends, or members of some organisation or group, and you want to form your own village, you as the coordinator name it and pull them together.

Next you put the word out, both through the Village forum and through external networks. Your goal is to secure 100% subscription. There is some flexibility in size, some smaller than 500 people, some larger.

Finally, once the people are identified, you maintain communications so it actually happens.

Is there compensation?

At first, no. This is not a job, it's an adventure. The relationship begins informally, but when a coordinator proves their ability to enrol people, it may morph from a volunteer role with the Village Forum into a formal working relationship with the Village Organising Company. No promises at the beginning, because we are seeking people passionate about the idea, not people primarily driven by pecuniary interest.
